Overview
A rivet nut (insert nut) gives a strong, reusable thread in sheet metal, tube or plastic that is too thin to tap. It is fitted from one side with a hand or pneumatic tool. The wide flat flange spreads the load and covers slightly oversized holes. The half-hex body sits in a hex hole and resists spinning under torque.
The open end lets a longer screw pass right through. Available from M3 to M12 with grip ranges from 0.5 mm to 5.5 mm. Each part number covers a set range of sheet thickness and has its own overall length (L), shown in the table.
