Overview
A rivet nut (insert nut) gives a strong, reusable thread in sheet metal, tube or plastic that is too thin to tap. It is fitted from one side with a hand or pneumatic tool. The wide flat flange spreads the load and covers slightly oversized holes. The full hex body sits in a hex hole for the highest resistance to spin-out.
The closed end seals the thread against water, dust and paint, and protects parts behind the panel. Available from M4 to M10 with grip ranges from 0.5 mm to 6 mm. Each part number covers a set range of sheet thickness and has its own overall length (L), shown in the table.
